It’s official – I Hate NZ Telecom!

OK. Now that I have got that off my chest… perhaps I should explain myself.

Being online over the last couple of months has been fraught with frustration. We have an excellent broad-band supplier complete with friendly, prompt, helpful service and a plan that cannot be dollar matched by any other available in NZ.

However…

Telecom NZ owns the phone lines so…

Whenever there’s a problem with our internet it’s Telecom that’s the weak link. Anytime it rains (and we have had double the unusual for July) the lines are crackly or an exchange goes down.

Telecom hasn’t been the same since “Spot” the Telecom Dog died. (I think all their credibility died with him) But then we had stopped using Telecom anyway, long before that happened.

New Challenge – New Look

Pre-season is nearly upon us so the Thirty Day Challenge warm-up is beginning.

As we are about to begin a new challenge I have changed the look of this blog to reflect that.

All the content from last year’s challenge will still be here – the info is still relevant – so I will endeavor to clearly keep the information separate to avoid confusion. This year’s content will be identified by ’2008′.

I am hoping you will join me and all the others to do this year’s challenge… I’m really looking forward to it.

Behind the 8 Ball

Sad to say… The Thirty Day Challenge is officially over and even more sad is that I didn’t complete this year’s challenge due to poor health. I haven’t been online much lately as I am having ongoing issues with my ‘dickie ticker’.

For those of you who don’t know; back in May I was rushed to hospital with my heart in ventricular tachycardia (VT) which is an abnormal heartbeat. I was given drugs to try to stabilize the rhythm and when that failed, ablation treatment (cauterization of heart tissue within the left ventricle). Unfortunately I have become symptomatic again which means I have not had the strength to do much when I get home from work. I will probably need to go back to hospital again soon. I am still keen to continue but for now my health is forcing me to take a low and slow profile. I will be taking it at my own pace instead of the breakneck speed of the actual challenge.
